Hello everybody,

Welcome to Rancho Bernardo Christian Church.  My name is Wayne Monroe and I have been blessed to be the Pastor for this congregation since our inception on January 15, 2006.

We began as a new church plant in the 4s Ranch community and was known as the “Ranchland Christian Church” for a number of years as we sought to minister to the growing “ranch” communities of northern San Diego County.  We had a facility for 7 years in the 4s Ranch Business Park and later used Oak Valley Middle School facilities until the pandemic hit.

Our church family has recently transitioned from meeting in 4s Ranch to meeting in Rancho Bernardo.  Our congregation has “aged” and is smaller now with an emphasis on meeting the needs of mature and senior adults in the RB area.  But we have retained a very aggressive ministry mindset as we continue a powerful prayer ministry, a semi-annual outreach to the homeless in North San Diego County, and participate each year in both the National Day of Prayer Breakfast and Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. We believe strongly in caring for our widows, the poor, and serving our community as well. Thus, our tagline describing our church family is “A Small Church with a Big Heart!”

Though small in numbers, our church operates in a very organic fashion as a loving church family.  Relationships are strong.  We take care of each other in times of need and crisis.  Love, warmth, and friendliness are some of our most obvious traits.  As a pastor, I am beyond thrilled to see how our church functions quite naturally as a true “body” of believers, serving one another without waiting for an assignment, everyone being a part of our prayer ministry, and a family that lives and serves together “keeping the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3).

Some things to know about our Pastor

Wayne was born to Christian parents and raised in Oklahoma.  His ministry training came from Harding University, a Christian school in Searcy, Arkansas.

He has served churches in North Little Rock, Arkansas; Duncan, Oklahoma; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Phoenix, Arizona; Tucson, Arizona and has been involved with three different churches in San Diego for the past 32 years.

He is the author of two Christian books, suited for either small group studies or personal spiritual development:  “Stressed or Blessed” and “The Battle Zone”

Wayne has the gift of teaching and preaching with his messages very relevant to today’s world and the common struggles of life.  His style is simple and very Bible-centric.  Each message comes with a downloadable outline for you to follow as he speaks, and to use for your own daily devotional times during the week.
